Starting Strong – Tips on how to make the best of 2024

It feels like just yesterday we were still faithfully committed to our New Year’s resolutions. Excited by what potential needed unlocking in the year that lay ahead – 2023. Today, with just a few weeks to Christmas, 2023 is now the year that was…
This is the perfect time for reflection. As the year hobbles to an end (it’s been a brutally busy one), nothing instills gratitude better than looking back. At the same time, looking back helps us look to the future too – learning from the past helps us become better for the future.
This month’s Blog is all about wrapping things up. Both professionally and personally. Making time to assess what we have achieved in 2023 and using it as a process of stepping into 2024 and owning it!
#1: Reflect on your performance against your objectives. Look at the personal, professional and food safety goals that you set at the beginning of the year. It may be too late to change the outcome of these goals, but understanding the reason for the failures or successes, helps you set the course for 2024.
#2: Clean up! Declutter your spaces – home, office, factory. A clean and organised environment makes you more productive.
#3: Start planning… Get your 2024 year planner up! Get staff to plot their leave days. Schedule your regular meetings. Plot your audit dates. Plan specific training days or activities. 2024 will be off to a much smoother start!
#4: Find your passion. It’s the time of the year that everyone feels tired, stressed and on the verge of giving up. Living a life of purpose at work and in your personal life, is what breeds resilience. You will need this resilience to face new challenges in 2024!
#5: Acknowledge the important people in your life. As we are swept up into the day-to-day tasks at work and at home, it’s easy to forget that we are surrounded by supportive family members and friends, workmates who cheer us on and leaders who inspire. Make sure they know that you appreciate them!
We hope the next few weeks will see you making some time to reflect – we certainly will be doing just that!
